Welcome to Sri Sudharmarama Vidyayanathana Pirivena

Sri Sudharmarama Vidyayanathana, an affiliated monastery of the Gangaramaya Maha Viharaya, Hunupitiya, Colombo, is located in the Colombo District and is the only Vidyayanathanathana Pirivena in the Homagama Educational Zone.

Our aim is to provide the nation with a group of highly educated lay and monastic children who protect the environment in a peaceful environment.

Sri Sudharmarama Vidyayathana Pirivena

Educational activities will be implemented in line with the school curriculum, including Advanced Level Arts and Commerce from Grade 6 onwards, and many co-curricular activities such as sports, Aesthetic Education, Practical Media Education, etc. will be implemented.

Sri Nyagrodha Maha Pirivena

After the Sudharmarama Pirivena was elevated to a Vidyayatana Pirivena, the Sri Nyagrodha Pirivena in Kosgama Karagalla was started as an affiliated primary Pirivena and has now become a Maha Pirivena operating from the primary grade to the final grade of the Pirivena and the Advanced Level division.

Seethawakapura Pirivena Teacher Training Institute

This Pirivena Teacher Training Institute, the only Pirivena Teacher Training Institute in Sri Lanka, will train teachers who will be engaged in teaching activities in the Sri Lankan Pirivena system.

Sri Sudharmarama Vidyayathana Pirivena

A Legacy of Knowledge and Tradition

Our Pirivena, which started as a basic Pirivena on 13th September 1965 with the full blessings of Gangarama Maha Viharaya, Hunupitiya, Colombo, was elevated to a Maha Pirivena in the 1980s and then to a Vidyayathana Pirivena in the same decade. Currently, our Pirivena, which is governed by the Pirivena Unit of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, has achieved many achievements in both academic and extracurricular activities under the leadership of Ven. Dr Kirinde Assaji Thero.
